The publications team provides editing, writing, design, and production services. Our nationally award-winning team offers value and service to UMB in the following ways:

Cost: Compared to outside vendors, our services are the least expensive. In two years, there has been no increase in price. (For example, OEA has saved the School of Nursing 50 percent on jobs previously contracted externally.)

Customer Service: We provide designers, editors, writers, and Web support in one central location. We provide ongoing client education and training. (For detailed information on the publications process, please see the Client Toolkit.)

Awareness: Our institutional knowledge and shared relationships is a combination that no outside firm can match.

Our News Bureau team is here to help journalists get the information they need about University of Maryland news, faculty, programs, and research, and to help faculty share their work with the media.

Each school has a contact person in the Office of External Affairs to collaborate on their media relations.
